Arrival in Hanoi, meet and welcome. Then transfer to the hotel.
Upon arrival at Noi Bai Airport, our guide and driver will welcome you at the pickup lobby, and then take you to your hotel located in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. The guide will provide briefing information about culture, traffic, cuisine, and the city’s main attractions during the drive from the airport to the city center (approximately 45 minutes).
Arrive at your hotel. Complete check-in and have a rest.
Please note: Check-in time at the hotel is 14:00.
For the remainder of the day, you are free to relax and leisurely explore the city.
Take an excursion to the pottery village of Bat Trang, Temple of Literature. Then drive to explore the Old Quarter, and indulge in a water puppet show.
At 8:30 AM, be picked up from your hotel to take to Bat Trang Village, situated on the Red River bank, 20 km from the center of Hanoi. This is one of the most renowned traditional craft villages in the country that specializes in porcelain. After more than 700 years of existence and development, the local people still blow their souls into the soil fibers every day to create sophisticated ceramic products. Bat Trang stands as a living testament to Vietnam’s artistic and historical legacy.
Upon arrival, we’ll tour the Bat Trang communal house, built in 1720 to worship the village tutelary god (Thanh Hoang) who established the porcelain craft village. Visit a family-owned factory where your guide will explain to you the processes involved in crafting ceramic products. Here, you will have the chance to watch craftsmen work, learn about ceramic crafts, join in hands-on experiences, and try making a ceramic product yourself. Take a stroll to explore the village, admire the beautiful products showcased in the shops, and purchase handcrafted ceramics as souvenirs.
Drive back to the city center and take a break for lunch (at your own expense), then visit the Temple of Literature. This historic site was constructed during the Ly Dynasty in the 11th century to worship Confucius and teach the children of the royal family and nobility. Take a walk in the Garden of Literature (Giam Garden) and reach Khue Van Cac (Hanoi’s symbol). Continue to explore Quoc Tu Giam (Vietnam’s first university) and visit monuments like 82 Doctoral Stelaes (a world documentary heritage), the House of Ceremonies, and Thien Quang well…
Proceed the excursion by driving through the French Quarter, passing by Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and the Presidential Palace to the Old Quarter of Hanoi, founded in the 15th century as the trading center in the capital with 36 streets selling different typical products. Through many ups and downs, the Old Town is always considered a living museum in the heart of Hanoi. It is a harmonious blend of unique tube houses, open-air markets, temples, narrow lanes, and street vendors. The best way to stimulate all your senses is to explore the streets on foot.
Round off the day by enjoying a water puppet show. First appeared in the 11th century in the Red River Delta, it is a traditional form of performance in Vietnam that combines puppetry techniques, water effects, and traditional music. These performances are usually based on historical events, and legends or depict Vietnam’s culture, beliefs, and rural life through the use of puppets on the water.
Come back to your hotel.
